Dr Omar Tillo

MD, MS, EBOPRAS, FRCS (Plastic Surgery)

Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Dr Omar Tillo is a consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with a scope of practice focusing on body contouring aesthetic surgery. His practice is built on the founding belief that every patient is unique, therefore, each aspect of management and surgical technique must be adjusted and fine-tuned to accommodate specific issues relevant to each individual patient. He strongly opposes the concept of “one-size fits all”.

Dr Tillo graduated in medicine in 1997 then completed his specialisation in General Surgery in 2002. Followed by a second specialisation in Plastic Surgery. In 2005, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and later a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FRCS Plast).

Dr Tillo worked in some of the busiest hospitals in the United Kingdom and developed a set of advanced skills in microsurgery, breast reconstruction and body surgery. He completed two advanced fellowships in hand surgery and in breast reconstruction. During his last job as a consultant at the National Health Service (NHS), he established the breast reconstruction service at Bedford Hospital by implementing microsurgery, free flap reconstruction, complex and revision breast surgery, and simultaneously, set up and ran an oncoplastic training program for both doctors and nurses.

He was awarded the Master Degree in General Surgery and the MD degree (Medical Doctorate with Thesis) for his research on angiogenesis. He obtained the European Board of Plastic Surgery and the United Kingdom Intercollegiate Board Exam in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr Tillo is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (UKAAPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
