Following her clinical training, she completed an MPhil inBiochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a PhD in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism from King’sCollege London (KCL) in 2016. Dr. Ajaz has been at the forefront of clinical research and service

development for MASLD at the Institute of Liver Studies, King’s College Hospital, where she leads patient-centred initiatives and research into non-invasive biomarkers for liver fibrosis and cancer, including holding

patents for novel biomarker panels developed at KCH. Her scientific focus has been on mitochondrialdysfunction and bioenergetics as central drivers of chronic disease and regenerative pathways, linkingmetabolic stress to liver injury, multi-organ health, and opportunities for novel therapeutic interventions.She is the only certified Lifestyle Medicine physician working within a UK hepatology unit, bringing aunique, preventive, and patient-focused approach to liver care.
