Mr Alistair Jepson

MB ChB FRCS (Tr & Orth)

Consultant Orthopaedic & Specialist Upper limb Surgeon

Mr Alistair Jepson MB ChB FRCS (Tr & Orth) is a specialist upper limb surgeon. He has been a consultant since 2005, with a practice exclusively in shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist surgery (everything from fingertip to collar bone).

He graduated in 1994 from the University of Birmingham, and thereafter trained in and around London, with his orthopaedic specialist training within the North West Thames region. After achieving specialist accreditation, he pursued an interest in upper limb surgery with two fellowships; the first an upper limb fellowship in Brisbane, Australia, and the second a hand fellowship back in the UK, at the Pulvertaft Hand Unit in Derby.

His work is divided between his NHS commitments at Northampton General Hospital, and his private practices in Northamptonshire and Harley Street Specialist Hospital. Sports injuries are a large part of his work, and Alistair looks after many local professional sports teams in Northamptonshire from the fields of rugby, football and cricket. He is also one of only a few surgeons in the UK offering joint replacement surgery for arthritis at the base of the thumb.

His professional affiliations include: British Shoulder & Elbow Society; British Society for Surgery of the Hand, British Orthopaedic Association, and British Medical Association.
