Mr Karim Kassam

Mr Kassam has extensive training in the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery across both the UK and Europe. He completed his medical degree at St George’s Hospital, London and holds a dental degree from King’s College London. He also holds postgraduate fellowships in dentistry from England and Ireland, alongside fellowships in General Surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (FRCS OMFS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

His UK higher surgical training was completed on the prestigious North East Thames Rotation, training within internationally renowned units including The Royal London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London Hospital.

Mr Kassam has also completed advanced fellowship training in Europe, including courses undertaken through the European College of Aesthetic Medicine & Dentistry, alongside diploma-level training in Head & Neck Reconstruction completed at the University of Barcelona.

He works across both NHS and private practice, treating the full scope of general Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, with specialist interests in head & neck oncology, facial skin cancers, and salivary gland disease. He sits on the Private Head & Neck MDT at The Harley Street Clinic and is a core member of the NHS Head & Neck & Skin MDT at James Cook Hospital.

Mr Kassam has a further specialist interest in the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders and is one of only a small number of surgeons in the UK trained in TMJ Arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) and TMJ Replacement (Jaw Joint Replacement) procedures.

At Harley Street Specialist Hospital, Mr Kassam offers both routine and complex Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to both paediatric and adult patients, supporting the hospital’s commitment to delivering highly specialised consultant-led care across a broad range of advanced surgical disciplines.

In addition to his surgical practice, Mr Kassam is fully trained in non-surgical and cosmetic facial surgery, including face lifting, neck lifting, blepharoplasty, brow lifting, hairline lowering, forehead reduction, hair transplantation, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), and facial plastic surgery. He has additionally completed a Facial Plastic Surgery and Rhinoplasty Fellowship in Rome, Italy.
