MBBCh, MRCS, D Sports Med, MFSEM, MD (Res), FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Consultant Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon working in Windsor, Ascot, Harrow and Central London. I specialise in hip replacement, knee replacement, hip arthroscopy, ACL rupture and knee arthroscopy alongside revision hip replacement, revision knee replacement and sports injuries.
I have over 20 years of experience in orthopaedics and trauma and have been working as a substantive Orthopaedic Consultant at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust for the past 3 years.
Since I began my career, I’ve performed numerous hip and knee operations. It’s a great honour to be entrusted with people’s bodies. Every operation that I perform still excites me because I’m building artificial joints to help my patients enjoy their lives again.
I hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from Cairo University, a post-graduate diploma in Sports & Exercise Medicine and an MD (Res) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from University College London (UCL).
I have also completed my higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics on the Northeast Thames London Deanery Rotation. I have gained further experience at leading UK and International hospitals including The Royal London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, University College London as well as Vancouver General Hospital in Canada.
Alongside my career, training, and studies I have been involved extensively in research. My work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and I have presented my findings both nationally and internationally.
I am a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (FRCS Tr and Orth) and a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (MFSEM).
I am also an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor and have been an examiner for various FRCS courses. I run a national FRCS programme for senior surgeons sitting their fellowship exit exam.
Currently, I am the arthroplasty lead at Heatherwood and Wexham Hospitals (Frimley Health NHS Trust).
