For first class day-case surgery, look no further.
Mr Peter Domos
MD, FRCS (Tr&Orth)
Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon
I am double-fellowship trained (United Kingdom and France) Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interest in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in London, United Kingdom. I am the clinical lead for the Virtual Fracture Clinic (VFC) and the Shoulder & Elbow unit at Barnet Hospital, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. I provide general trauma and full comprehensive shoulder and elbow services for degenerative disorders, sport injuries and complex trauma. My specialist interests are in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, open joint reconstruction and joint replacement.
I also work within a group structure at Total Orthopaedics, that exists to provide a multi-specialty service, with the benefits of collaborative and innovative working.
In recognition of my clinical and research contributions I was elected a member of the Program Committee of the prestigious European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow, alongside world-renowned surgeons.
I am an active British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS), British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC/ESSSE) and American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) member. I was awarded winner of the BESS Travelling Fellowship 2014, as well as the Paul Calvert Research Paper Prize, the ISAKOS Upper Limb Travelling Fellowship 2016 and several other international and national awards. In addition to my year-long fellowship in France, I have also visited many other leading shoulder and elbow surgeons in Europe (18 surgeons across 6 countries).
I am one of the course convenor of the ORUK London Shoulder and Elbow FRCS(Orth) course and I was recently awarded as Trainer of the Year of the prestigious Middlesex and UCLH Orthopaedic Deanery and Society. I am also a member of the UK Watanabe Club, which is a group of shoulder surgeons with a unified interest in sharing experiences and techniques with the next generation. I am consistently involved in research (which has led to an MD degree), with several publications in peer-review journals, book chapters and annual presentations at various scientific meetings. To maintain my professional development, I regularly attend and teach (as a Faculty member) at national and international courses, to keep my knowledge and skills up-to-date.
I love spending time with my young family. I also enjoy travelling and I am passionate about motorsports, especially car racing and Formula 1.
