Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Ross Elledge is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Birmingham and Solihull. He completed undergraduate degrees in dentistry (University of Malta, 2003) and medicine (University of Birmingham, 2010) finishing first in his year in both undergraduate degrees. The University of Birmingham awarded him both the Sir Arthur Thomson Gold Medal and The Chancellor’s Prize.
Mr Elledge completed higher surgical training in the West Midlands. He has also completed two nationally recognised Training Interface Group (TIG) Fellowships in Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and The Management of Skin Cancer (Nottingham and Leeds respectively).
Mr Elledge’s practice encompasses skin cancer surgery and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. He is a member of the Solihull LSMDT and performs weekly surgery for skin cancers of the head and neck region. His personal clear margin rate is in excess of 98% with high patient satisfaction scores for reconstruction on a recent survey. With regards to temporomandibular joint surgery, he is one of a handful of surgeons in the United Kingdom who performs total alloplastic replacement of the TMJ and was recently elected an Associate Member of the European Society of TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS).
Mr Elledge maintains an strong academic commitment. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, where he leads the Human Disease module in the undergraduate BDS degree. In addition to publishing and presenting his own research, he is an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
